His laugh can cure most anything and his joie de vivre will lift all spirits. The bottled energy of Lewis Cellars Cabernets and Chardonnays combines with a legacy marquis flashing Randy’s European race car roots driving Formula Threes and his tasting experiences with local wines before returning to the US behind the wheel of Indy Cars and ultimately a successful family wine business. Feeling lucky to have spent so many magical moments sharing Randy and Deb Lewis’s “full on” approach to life, it is easy to understand their latest project that combines forces with Lance Armstrong to bottle the 2005 Cuvee 7.
Unafraid chasing adventure and excellence, they armed themselves with a growing list of gold-touch winemakers and consultants over the years including Helen Turley, Paul Hobbs, Robbie Meyer, and more. That commitment and all its superstar elements never changed Randy and Deb’s fun loving and caring personalities that lit up rooms, insured real and comfortable conversation, and made even the wildest stretches of your imagination seem possible. Grand new schemes develop with a “let’s do it” just for fun attitude. Now, a limited production wine with a new twist to “best-in-class” partner, whose profits will be donated to cancer research via the Lance Armstrong Foundation, is Randy’s newest embodiment of ultimate drive:
Seven-time Tour de France winner, Lance Armstrong, takes his love of wine to a new level combining forces with Randy Lewis of Lewis Cellars in Napa Valley to create an exciting new Napa Cabernet – “Cuvee 7”. The first ever 2005 Cuvee 7 is 100% Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon from the year Lance won his seventh Tour de France.
Only 4 barrels were made, producing less than 90 cases. The wine was aged in 100% new French oak and was bottled unfined and unfiltered. The wine comes in a 3-bottle black piano finish box signed by Lance and Randy…Randy met Lance at the 2001 Tour de France. Lance has been to Napa many times including trips to taste the various Cabernet components and pick the final blend. They share a love of sports, and cycling has been Randy’s number one exercise since 1977.
Year in and out, the Lewis Chardonnays and Cabernets are full throttled California renditions of the grapes. The wines are never shy. If you’ve met Randy, you understand.
